Empowering Women to Grow Strong BusinessesWhatever you do, be different – that was the advice my mother gave me, and I can’t think of better advice for an entrepreneur. If you’re different, you will stand out. Anita Roddick, founder of The Body Shop.
Small Business Assessment:
Each client at the Southeast Regional Women’s Business Center meets with a Business Counselor during an initial intake session. No matter where you live within the fifteen parish region served by the Women’s Business Center, a counselor will assist you via Skype, phone, or in person. During this initial meeting, we want to get to know you and your business. Your business counselor will help you identify challenges for the business and barriers to market entry or growth. Your counselor will help you select a training plan and will also identify steps for the business to take and resources that can help you launch or strengthen your small business.
Our trainings include weekly workshops and monthly seminar classes taught by our counselors and other partnering agencies. Topics include business planning, finance, marketing, operations, licensing, and contract opportunities.
During the series, we will cover the following topics:
- Business Basics
- Financial Analysis and Planning & Personal Budget
- Business Plan Development
- Legal Entity Filing
- Credit Counseling
- Quick Books and Back Office Support
